While influential 20th century Europeans such as Picasso and Moore borrowed from traditional African art forms,
recent outstanding native Africans such as Kibuuka have been influenced by masters of traditional and
contemporary Western art. Combining these diverse ingredients to form innovative blends of technique,
composition, and style, African modernists such as Kibuuka also highlight and preserve images of Africa which
are in danger of disappearing from the record of daily human existence.
